Informationen
Schubert's Arpeggione Sonata is clearly one of the most popular pieces in the viola repertoire. Since I am not aware of any edition of the viola part that satisfies me to any degree in terms of both fidelity to the original text and the handling of the necessary octave transpositions, I have decided to present my own edition for standard viola, inspired in part by my frequent performances of the work on my five-string tenor viola, with the lowest string tuned to E-the bass note of the Arpeggione.
